What is the difference between our screenings and that of others?... Typically, other healthcare agencies that offer non-diagnostic preliminary screenings, use a device called a 'DermaScan'. This is a screening tool that in general screens the facial region, using ultraviolet lighting to identify areas of concern. However, here at AHO, we have found that while that is a very thorough procedure, it is not as thorough as a FULL BODY exam, or an exam wherein more key areas other than the face are screened. The DermaScan leaves areas that are of equal concern un-screened. This in effect defeats the purpose of this preventative step altogether.
